As part of the Winchester Multicultural Network’s ongoing commitment to Winchester’s next generation of social justice leaders, the Network will be sponsoring a two-part workshop geared toward youth. The workshop will be facilitated by VISIONS, Inc., an organization celebrated for its change-oriented approach to diversity and inclusion work.
Trained VISIONS, INC facillitators Mayra Rodriguez-Howard and Jamila Capitman will lead this year’s workshop.
Mayra Rodriguez-Howard, MSW
Consultant with VISIONS, Inc. Trained Social Worker whose career spanned the fields of substance abuse, youth development and multicultural issues. Retired director of a youth development program in South Boston. Currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Winchester Multicultural Network. Ms. Rodriguez-Howard was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico; has been living in Boston since 1975; and joined VISIONS in 2001. Ms. Rodriguez-Howard is especially interested in cross-cultural communication, youth related issues and training in the non-profit sector.
Jamila Capitman, BA
VISIONS consultant and founder of the VISIONS Legacy Project, BA in African American Studies from Temple University. Former director of Multicultural Student Programming at Milton Academy and has worked in Boston Public Schools as an educator and consultant.
