For the past year, Citizens for Juvenile Justice has been developing a community-driven Diversion Network using community input, local data, and research to collectively create a vision for a pre-arraignment diversion system that keeps young people out of court, building on the findings in our Less Crime for Less Money report.
Join us on September 16th, where individuals most impacted by the justice system – young people, their families and their communities – will collectively design alternatives to justice system involvement. We will share the findings from our research followed by interactive working groups to create the vision for more effective solutions to the problem of unnecessary court processing and detention.
Who should attend?
Young people and family members who can share their experiences and opinions on creating a new community-wide plan to divert young people away from the justice system.
Advocates and system leaders to share their expertise and professional knowledge and resources in the community.
Law enforcement representatives who would be curious to hear directly from community members on recommendations for effective public safety
