On March 27, 2018 at 7:00 pm, the Winchester Historical Society and the Winchester Multicultural Network will present “Boston Chinatown: 1880 to Present” at the Society’s Sanborn House, 15 High Street. Boston’s Chinatown serves as the economic, social, and cultural center for one of the fastest growing populations in Massachusetts. Dr. Tunney Lee will share the history of Chinatown from 1880 to present.
Tunney Lee, Professor Emeritus and former Head of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT, leads the Chinatown Atlas project which is a collaborative effort documenting and exploring Chinatown’s growth and change through time as told by personal stories, photos, maps, and interactive features on the website.
