The Network was a community partner for this year’s WorldFest, a multicultural festival including dance and musical performances, artwork, crafts, activities, cultural displays, and food from all around the world. This was the eighth year for WordlFest in Woburn, organized by Social Capital, Inc. and the North Suburban YMCA International Learning Center. Additional community partners include the Mass Cultural Council, People’s United Bank and the Shepherd’s House. The Network provides an activity for families that involves placing a pin on a world map to indicate where they or their ancestors are from, and adding a word of greeting to the display if they speak a language other than English. People enjoyed showing their children where they are from, and connecting with their ancestors and/or their homeland by putting their pin on the map.
