The Mission of the Winchester Multicultural Network is to:
- Promote the recognition, understanding, and appreciation of diversity;
- Advocate for each and every person’s civil rights;
- Confront intolerance.
To carry out our mission, we . . .
- Respond to incidents of bias and discrimination (see Response Committee)
- Sponsor workshops which bring together individuals who live or work in our community and who are committed to fostering respect for differences.
- Offer events, forums, and programs that foster multicultural understanding.
- Co-sponsor programs and events with other town organizations
- Encourage members of the community to learn about important multicultural issues.
- Publish a newsletter which is distributed to over 1,000 households
- Support multicultural efforts in the schools and offers training opportunities for teachers and administrators.
- Support the Multicultural Issues Group at the High School and collaborate with the Program Director of Connect and Commit
- Serve as a resource for other organizations and town boards.
